Slavery or freedom, what would you choose?

I prefer liberty with danger than peace with slavery.

I read that statement and I was stunned, it clearly described my internal state of mind or may be the conflict which I am facing within me.

I have been asking this question around lately, anyone who knows me knows this about me that I am either reclusive or asking why’s of why’s;

So here it goes; what is important in this world Respect or money?

And it’s definitely relatable to the title of this blog metaphorically. If you get it then you get it!

The answer is very simple Money, money and money!

Without borrowed money or if I may call it certain amount of debts I wouldn’t have gotten educated and most importantly couldn’t afford this PC and express my feelings.

I mean it’s a long chain and everything is interconnected from my birth to me being able to sit here in luxury enjoying my favorite Asha bhosle’s tracks while sipping my infamous cardamom tea.

My birth was via an elective cesarean section due to my mum’s anatomical issue of cephalo-pelvic disproportion (Size difference between maternal pelvis and baby’s head). The whole point is even my entry into this world required a lot of money at that point of time, now it is considered as one of the minor procedures in obstetrical surgeries.

So the fact that everything has a cost, it completely annihilates my query. I mean if you have infinite amount of wealth, through legitimate means obviously, who cares what someone thinks about you?  Except for a crazy person like me who thinks respect is one important factor in my life.

Let me explain it a little, respect can be categorized into self respect and general respect as in societal criteria of belonging from a respectable family or your manners or overall behavior.

The maniac in me is pointing out exclusively to self-respect here, it doesn’t matter to me what society or anyone else think about me, although it really used to matter what my family think of me but thankfully I have reached at a point where I don’t care about that at all.

There’s another saying which says ‘One can never succeed if they keep listening to their mother, father, brother, sister, uncle and aunties.’

Again, he never mentioned here to disrespect your family who brought you up and especially in my case where they are still catering to my endless dramas, or paying my bills, or for my pills! However, to respect your own self enough, to work for what you believe in, and choose a life which satisfies you and not others.

Self respect can be very easily regarded as being selfish or some kind of privileged pompousness, especially without having single penny in your wallet, that kind of arrogance will never be catered by anyone not even your family.

 Ha-ha!

That panache can only come from some very strong inner believe that you are someone important and you are born to do something completely outrageous (In a good sense!) and wild.

If you are a born rebel and you want to do something remarkable in this world and your inner voice keeps persuading you to not settle for anything less than you truly deserve than why listen to unnecessary banter you are surrounded with.

I am pretty darn sure we have all heard the statement like ‘Money can’t buy happiness.’ And by now we have all understood that it’s absolutely rubbish to say that! As we very well know money can buy freedom and that’s what we all are striving for.

Freedom to be whoever we want to be, freedom to be wherever we want to be, freedom to do what we want to do in life and freedom to choose anything anytime.

Phew!

By now you must be wondering what shit I am talking about? If I know my answer why am I persecuting you all with my dreary thought process?

Well, if you remained hooked to this blog by now you surely do have some inner conflict going on within you but you don’t want to face this convoluted issue because you’d rather binge watch friends reunion or some other exciting new series than deal with your existential crisis especially on a weekend amidst the ongoing pandemic, No way!

It’s relatable! So that’s why you can exit now and can continue with your mundane life which can only be regarded as slavery to me and nothing else and I will surely soon write more about my opinion on acquiring happiness/ freedom and its relation with money and slavery on my next blog.

Thanks for sticking around.

Do enjoy every day of your life freely and not just weekends!

Ciao

Chasing Love or chasing what you love?

I call myself a nomad; a wanderer, I am mostly living in my imaginary world, the outside events just keep happening around me, and I most often tend to get succumb to those,  I feel such experiences over powers me into becoming this peculiar personality who is lost in her own world; aloof and not surrounded by the crowd. But when I sit with myself and ask what is that I truly desire, the only answer that follows is love! In search of which I’m running around like a maniac. But what kind of love and why love ? The basis of such un heard of mind-set develops since childhood and then it grows with external experiences, however the internal chemistry remains essentially unchanged no matter what happens around you. Life is always going to be unpredictable and challenging, what makes you, YOU! Shouldn’t change, one can evolve and learn but your core remains unaffected. Every time I end up chasing it I question myself why? You don’t need to run after it, it’s within you. It’s ...

Do the Dishes to dis the Discomfort!

As tongue twisting as it sounds, dish washing is genuinely like that job which you hate doing, but have to get succumb to it, because you want to eat those scrumptious meals and pickles and all those greasy stuff, as many times as you want to, but there isn’t any house help available, especially amidst this lock down. To be truthful, I have my whole family living together, and for us eating is like breathing(Exaggeration!),a lmost every hour every other person is found slurping or gulping something from the kitchen. Moreover, we have our beloved pets living with us,so there are separate set of utensils for them as well. Yes, our kitchen is open 24/7 for every creature, with our sink welcoming dishes like, one of those not so spacious but stuffed buses on the road which we see accommodating, countless passengers, as many as they can load, and even then, there is plenty of space left on the top, so they fill that area too, and if that is also occupied then we can see peopl...

Self Discovery: is it important?

Seldom have we found ourselves in the midst of monotony, only if we stop and question our state of mind from time to time! What is it which keeps us going? Is it our goals? Fear of unknown? Or is it our liabilities? In order to survive we do need to pay our bills, however to be able to cater our emotions we must understand the why of our existence. What make us unique from everyone else around us are our individual experiences and our response to those obstacles or opportunities which we face along our journey. Our intellect is the supreme entity but for it to function on an optimal level we must bestow it with a map which will ultimately provide us with various strategies to navigate our lives according to our priorities. From where will we find that map? Through our knowledge, experiences, the people we meet, the kind of principle with which we lead our lives. Life becomes droning, because we have hemmed in ourselves from exploring the plethora of knowledge, dif...
