As tongue
twisting as it sounds, dish washing is genuinely like that job which you hate
doing, but have to get succumb to it, because you want to eat those scrumptious
meals and pickles and all those greasy stuff, as many times as you want to, but
there isn’t any house help available, especially amidst this lock down.
To be
truthful, I have my whole family living together, and for us eating is like
breathing(Exaggeration!),almost every hour every other person is found slurping
or gulping something from the kitchen.
Moreover, we
have our beloved pets living with us,so there are separate set of utensils
for them as well.
Yes, our
kitchen is open 24/7 for every creature, with our sink welcoming dishes like,
one of those not so spacious but stuffed buses on the road which we see accommodating,
countless passengers, as many as they can load, and even then, there is plenty
of space left on the top, so they fill that area too, and if that is also
occupied then we can see people hanging from behind with one hand supported by
the handle on the back of the bus and the other hand is supported by
serendipity.
So by now
you can actually imagine the state of our kitchen sink, and how most of our kitchen looks like, right? And if you cannot picture that, and if it’s not the case at
your home, then hats off to you all.
For me doing
the dishes is actually a process, just like how I gear up for my work out, or
how as health care professionals we gear up in our scrubs, don the gown and
gloves and clear the area to perform any procedure.
Since, when I
have involved myself into this business of dish washing, I have acquired this
sense of poise and patience in me and have developed genuine respect and
empathy for all the people who have been doing this job all their lives, just
because they aren’t educated and that’s what they are suppose to do to make the
ends meet for their family.
But isn’t it
like a regular job?
If we can eat our food, go to work, dress well, sleep, and
we actually do clean our shit all by ourselves regularly, why can’t we clean
our utensils?sweep and mop our own homes where we live ? and wash our own clothes.
If anything, but what this rough time has forcefully taught us, is the value of each and every work we used to take for granted, which can be as small as cleaning and dusting our own room.

Doing the
chores and cleaning up actually makes you feel better, and it is recommended to
declutter your surroundings to declutter your mind.
It is best
if we try and opt to do our work by our own hands or rather start being
grateful every moment of our lives for everything that we are blessed with.
Also Do try
the tongue twister mentioned in the title of this blog. it’s fun!.
